During August & September 2023, I visited visitor destinations that are either/any/all of (i) traffic free, (ii) have really good / interesting / integrated transport systems that are paid for or free to see the roles of their transport systems on lowering visitor carbon, but also looking at and for other carbon consequences. These are being supplemented by other places – such as US national parks with seasonal visitor traffic management, the richness of the 18 Alpine Pearls destinations (for their approach to eco-mobility), as well as places closer to home.
